My Grandmother, Wynona Renison was adopted in the early 1900's. She was separated from her natural family at around 5 years of age. She thinks that she was born around 1905 in or around Walla Walla, Washington. She thought that her family surname was possibly "Warren". She wasn't even sure of her own given name - she thought it might have been "Hazel" and that she had an older sister named "Ethel" and a brother. Her natural mother gave her and her sister to a blind couple when she remarried. She remembers something about the new "husband" not wanting to keep the girls, but that he would keep the boy. Eventually, she was also separated from her sister and passed around to several families. She was finally adopted in Oklahoma by Mary Davenport. If anyone has any information concerning her natural family, we would love to hear from you.
I tried doing a search but really could not come up with anything. I was not able to find any families in the Walla Walla aree that had both an Ethel & Hazel. It is kinda hard when you dont have much information.
Good luck Im also searching for a few birth parents of my sons father and also my current husband it is a journey.

Mary, I have ask friends in Meigs Co. about your family. None of them knew them. Have you tried the county health department for any NEWLUN birth records ? Was NEWLUN your mothers married name? I have checked my cemetery readings. I haven't found her. I don't have complete readings. I hope to go to Meigs Co. this week. I'll stop in the courthouse and check on marriage records. Perhaps she got married in Meigs Co. All the searching I have done on NEWLUN family leads to West Virginia. I'm more than willing to help you search. My parents familys came from Meigs Co.I do family history as a hobby. Dixie Flowers

Mary, Last year a first cousin on my dads side found me. No one in my dads family ever spoke of his baby sister having a baby. She went to her mothers people in Columbus. It was during the war. No one ever thought anything of her going to Columbus. Well when he got to see his birth certificate the judge said there was something funny about it. He excused himself and left the file on the desk. My cousin sat there. Later his daughter [prosecuter in another state] Told him when a judge leaves the room that is so the party can look at the file. Anyway,he was never told by his adoptee family that he was adopted. He has 2 1/2 half brothers that has lost contact with me. I'm still searching for them. However the new cousin came to see me and also my dads only neice. It was a great experince. I have 3 adopted grand daughters. They mean the world to me. I live in Athens Co. and go to Meigs Co. as often as I can. Looking forward to talking to you . Dixie Flowers cell phone --740-707-0040
