Me he propuesto encontrar a mis ancestros por dificil que resulte esta labor. Si tienes algun pariente que lleve este apellido o conoces a alguien con el, no dudes en enviarme un correo y contribuiras a realizar un anhelo que ya lleva años.
For several years I've been stuck at my 3rd great grandfather, Jacob Space who was born about Dec 1817 and died in Sussex County, New Jersey, February 26, 1885. I ordered his death record from Trenton and it does not list his parents names. I found on the LDS website a notation in the NJ Death records for him although it is off by a year. His obituary states he died in Deckertown, but this record indicates Wantage. I've called the clerks in both towns who tell me their records do not go back that far. I asked "how could Trenton have this record then?" Neither could answer my question. All census records indicate he was born in New Jersey. The church where he is buried does not answer letters or phone calls (they don't even do it for the historian over there), this is the Ridgebury Presbyterian Church in Ridgebury, NY. (near Westtown). I found out that a Rev. A. McReynolds married he and Arminda Courtright in November 1841. I was given a number for the Newton Presbyterian Church to ask about records and they tell me they have none they are all archived in Kentucky. I looked up and emailed the main office in Pennsylvania and have not received a response about what records they have and if they can be researched for a fee. I have tried to narrow down parents from the 1820 census and came up with a George and a Henry. Henry's will I was able to look up here because he died in Warwick, NY. Excerpts of George's that I found on the internet only give an adopted daughter's name of Mahala Hull but I'm unsure if there are any volunteers out there who could look at the actual will. I'd definitely trade looking for some in Orange County if someone could look Sussex County for me. I'm also unsure if just maybe there are some baptismal records around for Sussex county from 1817/1818. I think I've exhausted every possible search but hoping someone here can give some advice. Thanks
