I am attempting to find members of family releted to my mother Ica Reti. She was born in 1913 in Miskolc and passed away in Australia in 2000. Her father was Ignatz, her mother Mathilde. She has one brother, Erno who is alive and 4 other brothers who have passed away.
I have more information but this will do for a start. We know there are members of the family in Hungary, The US, Canada, Holland and of course Australia.
I just found this Family Genealogy online Bookstore on Google and they are pretty interesting in the way that to attract customers, they offer a free searchable CD-ROM of each book ordered. I bought a couple of books from them and I also received two free searchable PDF CDs of the books which really helped me a lot.I just thought that I should pass it along.Their address is www.ancestralbooks.com
Looking for anyone who know any of these names. They all belong to my grandmother but cannot locate her from before her marriage to my step-grandfather. These are just some names she went by. Thank you
Hi. I am new to all this but recently have been wondering about my fam history. Could any one give me some advice on how to start this and what exactly I should be doing and looking for. So far I have nothing. Thanks
I would love to help you get started with your family genealogy. Obviously the names of your parents and grandparents are important. My first step is to always locate them in the Federal census records. This will provide a huge amount of information including place of birth, immigration information, number of children in the family, education, address of the home they were living at etc. Census records are available on line through several sources like ancestry.com or individual genealogical sites for specific regions. You can also visit your local Family History Center (if there is one from the LDS church - they have census records on microfilm.) It is a great tool and can open the door to multiple generations but the most recent census that can be viewed is 1930.
If you would like to share your grandparents information I can see what I could locate and get you going down the right path.
