I absolutely love the research benefits that I am receiving from My Heritage. I commend them for what they have been able to put together. I'm sure there is just a box that I am not checking, but when I import a GEDCOM that has been created by my entries into PAF, all of the fields seem to show up just fine with the exception of the LDS ordinance fields. The problem occurs when I do my research and it is automatically merged, I want to be able to export a GEDCOM that has all of my fields for PAF including the LDS ordinances and the family search ID number (very important!). Could someone please help me with this dilemma or even if you tell me that it is not possible, I will find a way to work around it. The program is quite robust though and I believe that it should be able to pull in the LDS ordinances and family search number and place them in a protected area so that only allowed to members and guests can view them. Thank you in advance for your kind help. Sincerely, John
I "Intelligently" merged a smaller gedcom from a relative in the last week. This was the first ttime I had done so. I expected this to do "what it said on the tin", but it has totally skewed my tree. Apparently my name is now Sarah (I'm a man) and I was born about 50 years before my dad.
The question is: Can I retrieve a previous tree to try and restore the original tree? If not, this is going to take forever to fix.
I have a father who was married 3 times. In the tree all of the 10 kids are listed as being born to one of the wives. How can I change it that the kids are all under the correct mother.
I saw one post that said you need to delete the person.. this person is quite far up the tree and I don't know what happens to everything below if they are deleted.
You add the spouse(s) and then you can go to each child and link them to which parents.

I puposely related someone to wrong mother just to get them to show on the tree, but in the notes listed the correct mother's name as much as i know of it. I also put the parents relationship as unknown in this case as one is deceased aand I have not yet double verified the wives or partners or friends .I would not delete anyone til youknow hat that does to the rest of the tree. To link to the corect parent the previous post is correct that all the parents must be there in relation to the father in your case, then link the children by editing the children is how I did it.

Is it possible to change that online or do you have to do it with the offline program?
Everyone is in the tree, but I don't see (online) how to link a child to a different parent.

Please also see the message Please Read Before Posting. Your question really belongs on the technical side instaed of this message board. Sorry, I didn't catch that earlier. My apologies to every one and the technicians that are there to help us.

I did it in the program that lets you, as the site manager, build your family tree. Each person gives you options to privitize the person, edit the person, etc. I played with the options until I found what worked for me.
