First you start with your family name or the last name of the person you want to find. If it is a person that you think might be family but you dont know their last name it is good to talk to school friends of your parent or parents. Alot of the time school friends can remember who went with who in high school and alot of what happened. If this doesnt help you and you dont mind being more specific you can email me at bgmsanders@aol.com and I will see if I can help you. Barbara

Am I able to send someone a link to my tree without inviting them via email? I am a member of several forums and we just put the link to our tree in a posting and they can click the link and go to the site. I don't want to be 'inviting' people via the 'invite' people feature here.
I fixed this problem by making my tree public, no one needs to be invited, wish more trees were public, even in public the details of living people is hidden.
Thanks mate, I really don't see the point of going to so much time to create our trees then hide them from other people, sort of defeats the purpose of publishing it to the Internet, if you only want your family to see it, print it out and send'em a copy.
quote for the day "It is hard to understand how a cemetery raised its burial cost and blamed it on the cost of living."
I have noticed that I can not find an option to see the entire family chart - only the direct ancestors of someone, no siblings etc. Is there any way to do this?
At this point in time, there is no single report or chart that will print all the people in the family tree.
However, you can come close to this by following the advice below:
1. Use the Descendants or Ancestors chart (Fan, Horizontal or Vertical) to
create a visual chart for each major branch in the tree. You can adjust the
style and color of the chart.
Save the chart as a PDF when you are finished. This will allow you better
control over the printing options. For example, if you want to take the
charts to a printing shop to have them professionally printed on large size
paper it will be easy to print to one page.
2. Generate a chart called ‘Close Family Chart’ which will display the descendents of the ancestors of the selected individual. This comes very close to charting an entire family tree.
3. Create Book Reports for major branches in the tree. The Book Report is
very nicely laid out with photos of everyone, including indirect relations
and lots of other goodies.
I hope this information was useful to you. Good luck!
I've uploaded a new gedcom (last night) but I still can't edit it online? How or where do I go to edit it. Actually I don't think it's even 'come over', as all I have are the software trees I published. I want to be able to edit 'online'. I've found some stuff to add and don't want to stuff around re - uploading. Help please.
