Thanks mate, I really don't see the point of going to so much time to create our trees then hide them from other people, sort of defeats the purpose of publishing it to the Internet, if you only want your family to see it, print it out and send'em a copy.
quote for the day "It is hard to understand how a cemetery raised its burial cost and blamed it on the cost of living."
I've uploaded a new gedcom (last night) but I still can't edit it online? How or where do I go to edit it. Actually I don't think it's even 'come over', as all I have are the software trees I published. I want to be able to edit 'online'. I've found some stuff to add and don't want to stuff around re - uploading. Help please.
If a family tree was created with Family Tree Builder, only you will be able to edit it in the Family Tree Builder program. You can publish the tree to your online family site, but it will be read-only there, which means that the family tree will be displayed in its full glory, but it cannot be edited online. We are currently developing the new system that will allow Family Tree Builder trees to be editable online as well, by you or by other family members that you designate. We will make an announcement when this is ready for launch.
I have tried for several days now to upload a gedcom file thru my family page, but it dosen't work. It seems fine all the way when the PC is working with the loading, but when it should have ended up beeing finished and sucsessfull it only ends up with a new meny with TODO and a new line to search for the gedcom file.
Finally I managed today to get a family tree online by FTB but this one I can't edit and not upload photos too eather. I use the Brother Keeper as my genealogy program and have never had problems with ged.coms before. Do you know what happens, and what the reason is?
I would like to design my custom charts because in the charts that come with the program the names of the persons are partly hidden behind the photographs. Is there a possibility to make a custom layout? Thanks. Paul
