I am searching for my paternal ancestry. This is the only information I have about my father: born in Algeria in the mid 1920's, served in the French army stationed at Weierhof Germany including the years of 1948 - 1950, then served in Indochina with the French army after 1949 and was killed there. I don't know the exact spelling, but here is what we think it might be - OKBE HADEF
Hi, George Colin Campbell is my Dad. He was born 28/10/1913 in Bootle (?)England. He married Elizabeth in Iran at the Brittish Embassy around 1949. They returned to England in 1951 where I was born, then on to Australia in 1952.
Dad's sister was May, who came to Australia to stay with us around1966, then returned to England when my Dad died, which was in 1967. She was not married. I know Dad had other siblings, but don't know their names. I have a cousin called Marie, who was Dad's sisters child, I don't know the surname.
I am researching all varitaitons of the spelling of my surname. These include; Ratliff, Ratcliff, Ratcliffe, Radcliff, etc.
I would like any infromation concerning persons with these surnames.
At this point in time I am specially concerned with data about William and Agnes Ratcliff. William was born in North Carolina about 1752. I have additional information on Agnes, other than she was also called Agga.
I am seeking any relatives of a Rees Morgan, he once worked on the Railway born 1862, his wife Ann Morgan nee Jones born 1863. They had four sons, the eldest John Lewis Morgan born 1883, Rees Morgan born 1886. Taliesin Morgan born 1896. Morgan Morgan born 1900, he died before he was 11yrs old. The whole family were coalminers. They used to live in Cardiff .Glamorgan, South Wales moved to 11 Graig Berthlwyd Quakers Yard, moved to Tai Machine Llanfabon, then to 6 Llwyncelyn Terrace Nelson. At one time, the family lived at The Nelson Inn. Taliesin Morgan i believe, was married to a Mary nee Williams, and they possibly had some children, maybe they were living at 28 Springfield Terrace Nelson. Taliesin Morgan moved to Kent round about 1928-29, where he started work at Betteshanger Colliery as a Wages Clerk. He then married again and i am his son. He passed away in 1952.
