I am looking for ancestry to my Great Grandmother born Maria Coppens in Belgium in 1900.
She changed her name to Marie Coppens I believe when they immigrated to America.
Marie Grewe married Walter Otto Grewe. I can find little to no information on either of them.
Parents to the best of my knowledge are Mary Coppens and Alfons Coppens. The story goes that they died, drowning in Lake Superior. My great grandmother was sent with her sister Clementine Coppens to live with nuns.
