Would like to know why the name Farquar follows this persons name? He came from Ballochan, Boleskine, Inverness and married Catherine Fraser. I have a son for them a Donald Hugh Macdonald b:9/11/1902 who completed his apprenticeship as a carpenter in Inverness and later came out to live in Western Australia. Can anyone help me? I am looking for a possible connection to Clan Rose of Kilravock. As I understand, many Scots immigrated to the Polish/Prussian region as early as the 1600's. My father was born on 30 January 1904, second of seven children. His parents were August and Flora (born Uhlig) Rose. The family lived in Fellhammer, near Waldenburg, now Kuznice Swidnickie, part of Boguszow-Gorce, near Walbrzyskie, Poland. Thank you for any help.

Duncan Ross b. 1778 married Louise (Luzy) Campbell b. 1782 of Loth,
Sutherland. They married in Diurness 02 Jan 1798.
I don't have any other info on Duncan Ross but Louise Campbell's
parents were Alexander Campbell b. 1756 Glasgow and Christina
Sinclair b. 1760 Glasgow. All their children were all born Loth, Sutherland.

Ireland. By 1861 they had 5 children (Louisa b.1848, Maurice b. 1849,
Catherine b. 1850, William b. 1853 and Helen b. 1860
Alexander Campbell and Christine Sinclair were buried in Balnakeil. The grave was erected by D. Campbell and Alexander Campbell in 1832 (grandsons). But I don’t have any information on them at all. I do know that other than Luzy Campbell, Alexander and Christina also had Eupham b. 1787 and William b. 1784 but I can’t find record of them, their marriages or if they had children.
Another hick-up is Duncan Ross b. 1778 who married Luzy Campbell b. 1782. I can’t find any record to state where he is from or who his parents were. Only that he was a traveling merchant as you found. Duncan and Luzy had a son, Hugh b. 1814 a pilot but died in 1856 or thereabouts. The inscription at his grave states father was Duncan Ross and was stated to be Feuar. Which means the feuar is the owner of the land held on feudal title. I think that is right? So I found it odd I couldn’t find anything else on him. He certainly isn’t around in any of the census.
