you see my mom was adopted in 1942 and our south-african goverment can not find aany trace of my grandmother. we dont have more money to do big search.
Not sure if this message will get to you. Maybe you have an answer already. The Y-DNA 12 marker test is only for the Male-Men. Family tree DNA (www.familytreedna.com) offers a Family Finder test and mtDNA tests for Females. I do wish you good luck on any search you do.
