Welcome to the Family Website!

My name is Sandy and I am the Webmaster of this site.

This site was created using MyHeritage.com. If you have any comments or feedback about this site, please feel free to make a comment on the site itself or use my e-mail address at sljuhl1234@yahoo.com for a more direct route to contact me.
This Family Tree includes more than 20, 000 people listed in it dating back in history to around 400 A.D. to the present time in history, and includes a huge variety of Ancestors + Descendants.  If you can't find your ancestor or descendant in the family tree, then try putting a * before their name or two ** 's before their name.  I did this to be able to follow my direct family lines.  Otherwise, with so many people in the tree I'd found it confusing trying to sort out the lines.  The site will be updated when new information surfaces from time to time so do keep checking back.  You are most welcome to join in at any time.    Enjoy!

Hello Everyone--It's the 12 of March 2009 and I have just updated the Family Tree with more than 25, 000 Ancestors & Descendants in a second tree.  I will leave the two trees on this site for some time, because I know that others have added to the first tree.  So, if you don't find who you want in the first tree, just try the second tree.  Also, I have updated the Family Tree on www.RootsWeb.com WorldConnect and it's free for everyone.  Just copy & paste the url below and use the index to find who you are looking for on the site.   http://worldconnect.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=SHOW&db=sljuhl1234&surname=Elkins%2C+%2AJoseph

I will also update the LDS site as well soon for everyone: www.familysearch.org   Remember it's free also to use.

Genealógia:THE STORY TELLERS
Publicado por: Sandra781 em 13 de Mar de 2009 14:06

WE ARE THE CHOSEN

MY FEELINGS ARE IN EACH FAMILY, THERE IS ONE WHO SEEMS CALLED TO FIND THE ANCESTORS. TO PUT FLESH ON THEIR BONES AND MAKE THEM LIVE AGAIN, TO TELL THE FAMILY STORY AND TO FEEL THAT SOMEHOW THEY KNOW AND APPROVE. TO ME DOING GENEALOGY IS NOT A COLD GATHERING OF FACTS BUT, INSTEAD, BREATHING LIFE INTO ALL WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE. WE ARE THE STORY TELLERS OF THE TRIBE. ALL TRIBES HAVE ONE. WE HAVE BEEN CALLED AS IT WERE BY OUR GENES. THOSE WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE CRY OUT TO US: TELL OUR STORY. SO, WE DO. IN FINDING THEM, WE SOMEHOW FIND OURSELVES. HOW MANY GRAVES HAVE I STOOD BEFORE NOW AND CRIED? I HAVE LOST COUNT. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD THE ANCESTORS YOU HAVE WONDERFUL FAMILIES YOU WOULD BE PROUD OF US? HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I WALKED UP TO A GRAVE AND FELT SOMEHOW THERE WAS LOVE THERE FOR ME? I CANNOT SAY. IT GOES BEYOND JUST DOCUMENTING FACTS. IT GOES TO WHO AM I AND WHY DO I DO THE THINGS I DO. IT GOES TO SEEING IN A CEMETERY ABOUT TO BE LOST FOREVER TO WEEDS AND INDIFFERENCE AND SAYING I CAN'T LET THIS HAPPEN. THE BONES HERE ARE BONES OF MY BONES AND FLESH OF MY FLESH. IT GOES TO DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT. IT GOES TO PRIDE IN WHAT OUR ANCESTORS WERE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH. HOW THEY CONTRIBUTED TO WHAT WE ARE TODAY. IT GOES TO RESPECTING THEIR HARDSHIPS AND LOSSES, THEIR NEVER GIVING IN OR GIVING UP, THEIR RESOLUTENESS TO GO ON AND BUILD A LIFE FOR THEIR FAMILY. IT GOES TO DEEP PRIDE THAT THEY FOUGHT TO MAKE AND KEEP US A NATION. IT GOES TO A DEEP AND IMMENSE UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY WERE DOING IT FOR US. THAT WE MIGHT BE BORN WHO WE ARE THAT WE MIGHT REMEMBER THEM, SO WE DO. WITH LOVE AND CARING AND SCRIBING EACH FACT OF THEIR EXISTENCE, BECAUSE WE ARE THEM AND THEY ARE US. SO, AS A SCRIBE CALLED, I TELL THE STORY OF MY FAMILY. IT IS UP TO THAT ONE CALLED IN THE NEXT GENERATION TO ANSWER THE CALL AND TAKE THEIR PLACE IN THE LONG LINE OF FAMILY STORYTELLERS. THAT, IS WHY I DO MY FAMILY GENEALOGY, AND THAT IS WHAT CALLS THOSE YOUNG AND OLD TO STEP UP AND PUT FLESH ON THE BONES." Sent by, Doreen O'Keefe--Hamilton & Ramsay Researcher

Hi Everyone,

My brother and sister-in-law, Mike & Bonnie, visited with us this week from Indiana. It was very enjoyable. We were able to do a lot of catching up on family and friends. Now, the weather is nice to top off the weekend. What more could a person ask for?

Hi folks,

Chris & Michelle are getting settled in now at Ansbach, Germany where Chris is stationed. The photos you are enjoying on this site are of them in Germany. Great photos.

Mike and Stephanie sent photos of the kids from Ft. Campbell, Kentucky where Mike is stationed now. Happy photos of fun.

It's great staying in touch with all of them.

Sandy
