Compiled to be distributed amongst the Police Force only, Police Gazettes contain details and information that can not be found anywhere else. They include court lists, lists of warrants issued, appointments in the Police Service, lists of Justices of the Peace, lists of arrests and discharges and descriptions, inquest verdicts, lost or stolen items, missing stock animals, escaped prisoners and missing persons. Example entry taken from the 29 April 1896 issue: <blockquote> Incendiarism Harold Breidhall, Puckles-street, near Danks-street, Albert Park, reports that on the night of the 26 inst. a weatherboard house, value Â£60, his property, was destroyed by fire. The fire is the work of an incendiary.
